About

Bio:

Vikki Søholm (b.2002) is a photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Aarhus, Denmark.

Her work primarily revolves around issues such as social injustice and alternative ways of living, with a particular focus on the lives of women. From the early stages of her career, she has pursued projects in diverse environments, both in Denmark and abroad. She works with authenticity and integrity, always striving to build meaningful relationships with the people she photographs.

Her practice is rooted in a profound curiosity about the human condition—specifically, why people live, act, and think the way they do. She is particularly drawn to environments marked by vulnerability and controversy, where ethical engagement and care for those she follows or portrays is essential. She strives to meet individuals on equal terms, allowing their complexities to emerge without preconceived judgement. Through her work, she seeks out the recognizable and the relatable within personal narratives, using these elements to foster empathy, challenge dominant perceptions, and contribute to a more nuanced understanding of humanity.
